Saints and Warriors is a documentary that explores the intense relationship between Indigenous peoples, Identity and Basketball.

In preparation for the historic All Native Basketball Tournament, the documentary follows two basketball teams, the Skidegate Saints, widely considered the best First Nations basketball team in British Columbia, and their neighbouring rivals the Old Massett Warriors.

We get a glimpse into the lives of Indigenous basketball players from across BC, their shared history, and how the sport has become like a religion for many Indigenous people.

Directed by Patrick Shannon, Produced by Michael Grand from Big Country Films, Executive Producer Helen Haig-Brown, and a development team with Joleen Mitton and Gwaliga Hart - in partnership with the Haida Gwaii Media Collective.
